# VoiceForge Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of VoiceForge. By creating an
account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree,
do not use VoiceForge.

## 1. What VoiceForge Is

VoiceForge is a voice-first creative writing platform for novelists,
screenwriters, and other writers. The service helps you draft, revise, import,
analyze, and organize creative work with AI assistance, dictation, source
material, story bible context, project history, and reviewable workflow runs.

VoiceForge is a writing tool. It does not replace your judgment, editorial
review, professional publishing advice, or legal advice.

## 2. Accounts

You need an account to use most VoiceForge features. You must:

- Be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
- Provide accurate account information.
- Keep your password, session, and access credentials confidential.
- Tell us promptly at hello@voiceforge.studio if you believe your account has
  been accessed without authorization.

You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by
VoiceForge's failure to secure the service.

## 3. Your Writing and Intellectual Property

Your writing is yours.

- You retain ownership of manuscripts, outlines, story bibles, source material,
  characters, notes, dictation transcripts, edits, and generated drafts created
  in your account.
- VoiceForge does not claim ownership of your content.
- VoiceForge does not train its own general-purpose models on your private
  creative content.
- You grant VoiceForge a limited license to host, store, process, display, and
  transmit your content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve
  the service for you.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights needed to upload, adapt,
rewrite, or transform any source material you provide.

## 4. AI-Assisted Output

VoiceForge uses third-party AI providers and internal orchestration to help
generate, analyze, transform, and review writing. AI-assisted output can be
wrong, incomplete, inconsistent, or similar to patterns found in training data.

You are responsible for reviewing output before publication or distribution.
VoiceForge provides review, undo, history, and reconciliation workflows to help
you evaluate changes before treating them as canon.

Do not use VoiceForge to generate or distribute content that infringes another
person's rights or violates applicable law.

## 5. Billing, Credits, and Limits

VoiceForge may offer free, beta, paid subscription, or usage-based plans. Plan
details are shown in the product or on voiceforge.studio/pricing when available.

Where billing is enabled:

- Payment processing is handled by Stripe or another listed payment processor.
- You authorize charges for the plan, subscription, credit package, or usage
  limit you select.
- Monthly allocations reset on the billing cycle. Unused included monthly pages
  do not roll over unless the plan page says otherwise.
- Purchased add-on credits roll over until consumed unless the purchase terms
  state a different expiration.
- Project and session cost ceilings are designed to stop AI work before it
  exceeds configured limits.

Refunds are handled case by case. Contact hello@voiceforge.studio with the
account email, charge date, and reason for the request.

## 6. Acceptable Use

You may not use VoiceForge to:

- Violate applicable law or another person's intellectual property, privacy, or
  publicity rights.
- Generate sexual content involving minors, non-consensual sexual content,
  targeted harassment, threats, or instructions for violence.
- Attempt to access another user's content or bypass access controls.
- Upload malware, exploit the service, scrape private data, or interfere with
  service availability.
- Reverse engineer the service except where applicable law allows it.
- Use VoiceForge to build or train a competing service without written consent.
- Resell or redistribute service access without written consent.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk to
the service, users, providers, or the public.

## 7. Service Changes and Availability

VoiceForge is actively developed. We may add, change, or remove features,
providers, limits, pricing, or workflows. We aim to preserve writer content and
provide export paths, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free
service.

We may pause or limit features for maintenance, security, provider outages,
cost-control failures, abuse prevention, or legal requirements.

## 8. Exports, Deletion, and Recovery

VoiceForge aims to keep your work portable.

- You may export project content through available export tools.
- Deleted projects may remain recoverable for up to 30 days.
- Account closure requests are processed within 30 days, except where records
  must be kept for security, abuse prevention, accounting, tax, or legal
  reasons.
- Backups expire on their normal retention cycle.

## 9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT
PERMITTED BY LAW, VOICEFORGE DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE
OPERATION.

VOICEFORGE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, ORIGINAL,
PUBLISHABLE, FREE OF INFRINGEMENT RISK, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR INTENDED USE.

## 10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VOICEFORGE'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY
CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE
GREATER OF 100 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID VOICEFORGE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS
BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

VOICEFORGE IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL,
EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST
DATA, OR LOST PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES.

## 11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page and,
where practical, announced to active accounts. Continued use after an update
means you accept the updated Terms.
